The one thing you tell us year after year about the TPi Awards is that it’s over too soon. With guest numbers looking to break the 1,500 mark, we’ve decided it’s time to give you a longer networking opportunity.
TPi Awards will launch its inaugural Daytime event in 2017. Taking place at Battersea Evolution on the day of the Awards 27 February; Daytime will host a mix of valuable business connectivity, relevant discussions and of course, a relaxed lunch.
The morning will begin with the Production Services Association (PSA) AGM, followed by lunch. In the afternoon Daytime TPi will present two Question Time sessions consisting of leading panellists from the concert touring industry, who will be answering questions submitted by the audience.
Daytime TPi is an exclusive event for attendees of the TPi Awards. So if you have a ticket for the evening Awards you can RSVP free of charge and more importantly help shape the debate by submitting questions and topics you would like to see discussed when you register.
Daytime TPi is setting out to create and foster wide ranging debates pertinent to the industry rather than the traditional single topic led discussions.
11:30 – 12:30 – Production Services Association (PSA) AGM
12:30 – 13:30 – Lunch
13:30 – 14:30 – Load In, Breathe Out
The touring industry relies on thousands of freelance techs and engineers in order to make shows happen each night, week after week, month after month. Crew welfare aren’t words we hear too frequently, meaning looking after yourself and your career while living life on the road can not only be challenging, but often, the simple things are forgotten.
Your rights as a freelancer, attitudes towards stress, your mental health, your physical wellbeing, and your quality of life are all imperative to how you approach your daily work. What needs to be improved? And how can it be? We’ll also address the future of moving people across borders for work purposes. How will rerouting affect your earning potential and safety? You’re invited to look at the ways in which touring crew and travelling industry members should and could tackle these ongoing issues.
14:30 – 14:45 – Coffee Break
14:45 – 15:45 – Concert Touring’s Paradigm Shift
We are living in a globally interconnected world with an instant ‘on demand’ culture that has radically altered the way in which businesses are run. The music industry has had its traditional model turned on its head, yet live performance is more vital for artists’ revenue stream than ever before.
As the technical production industry continues to deliver the infrastructure for touring and large-scale performance, are we under threat from changing customer expectations or are we able to educate and nurture these technological advances to improve and extend the reach of concert experiences? Join in the debate to find out.
16:00 – 17:00 – Networking / drinks at the bar
